Education

The European Society of Ocular Inflammation (EUSOI) is dedicated to supporting continuous education in ocular inflammation across Europe. This page provides an overview of how EUSOI fosters learning for clinicians, researchers, and trainees involved in uveitis and ocular immunology.

Educational mission

EUSOI aims to advance knowledge and skills in the diagnosis, monitoring, and management of ocular inflammatory diseases. Through its educational activities, the Society encourages evidence-based practice, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the translation of research findings into improved patient care.

Our educational mission is to support ophthalmologists, rheumatologists, immunologists, and allied professionals in keeping pace with rapidly evolving diagnostic tools, therapeutic options, and clinical guidelines in ocular inflammation.

Educational activities

EUSOI supports a broad range of educational formats designed to address different learning needs and levels of experience. These may include scientific meetings, focused symposia, hands-on courses, interactive webinars, and structured case discussions.

In addition to live activities, EUSOI may offer online resources such as recorded presentations, expert interviews, and curated updates on advances in ocular inflammation, making it easier for busy professionals to engage with high-quality content.

For trainees and early-career professionals

EUSOI recognises the importance of supporting trainees, fellows, and early-career specialists who are building expertise in ocular inflammation. Educational initiatives may include dedicated sessions tailored to foundational and intermediate topics, with a strong focus on practical clinical decision-making.

Opportunities for mentoring, small-group case discussions, and informal networking can help younger colleagues connect with experienced clinicians and researchers across Europe. Activities developed for emerging professionals, including “Young EUSOI” style initiatives, are intended to foster career development, research collaboration, and long-term engagement in the field.

Resources and materials

This page is intended to evolve into a central hub for educational materials in ocular inflammation. Future resources may include recorded lectures, slide decks from teaching sessions, curated reading lists, and links to relevant clinical guidelines or consensus statements.

Additional learning tools, such as case libraries, diagnostic image collections, and brief summaries of emerging evidence, may also be added over time to support both self-directed learning and teaching within local teams.

How to stay updated

To keep up to date with EUSOI educational opportunities, we encourage you to visit the Meetings & Events page regularly, subscribe to Society updates, and consider becoming a member. Membership can provide enhanced access to learning activities, educational materials, and a community of colleagues committed to advancing the care of patients with ocular inflammation.
